Surface Pro X Screen Replacement Cost

This type of damage usually occurs when you drop the
tablet on a hard surface, press too hard on the screen, or when your tablet comes into contact with water
(internal damage). It has been proven that the screen of Surface Pro tablets can develop a defect after years of
use without any particular reason.

About the repair process.
Step 1: Diagnosis and check for conditions
We start the repair by checking the frame and its
corners for any damage. If the aluminum frame is so bent or dented that a new screen cannot be fitted into the
housing, there may be an additional cost of up to $30 and extra 1-2 hours needed for the repair. We’ll inform
you of this before proceeding and would never start the repair without your approval.
Step 2: Removal of LCD screen
We start by preheating the front of the Surface Pro X
tablet. This will loosen the adhesive and makes seperating the broken screen away from the fram little easier.
Even after preheating, it is still a time-consuming and delicate job. The screen has to be removed slowly and
carefully by prying out with a thin aluminum spudger, taking extra care not to damage the Wifi, Bluetooth
antennas as well as the speaker mesh.
Step 3: Ensure screen fit properly onto
frame
After the LCD had been removed, the next step is to
inspect and clean the frame of any adhesive residue. This ensure the the new LCD screen can be place properly
onto the frame without any gap. Next, we connect the new screen to the motherboard and continue to test the
display to ensure no defect before installing it onto the frame. The final step is to install the screen onto
the bended frame. If the screen still will not fit, we can use a grinding tool to polish and remove excessive
material from the frame untill the screen fits perfectly onto it.
The next step is to confirm that the screen works and that it fits snugly inside the frame. If everything looks
good, we glue the LCD and frame together with 3M adhesive tape, then let it sit for around 1 hour. After the
assembling procedure is completed, we give your Surface Pro X tablet a final cleaning and it is good to
go!
Step 4: Final Inspection
We want to make sure your Surface Pro tablet is in
perfect working order before it leaves our hands. We test the fitting of the new screen, display brightness of
the display, dead pixels or dark spots, and the sensitivity of the touchscreen. We also check that features like
the front camera, charging, speakers and Wifi are working properly. When you pick up your laptop, our friendly
customer service representatives go through the checking process again with you to make sure everything is
working as it should.
